“Hosanna Sunday” This Sunday is also called “Palm Sunday”. Today we remember Jesus’ glorious entrance into Jerusalem as a humble King, riding on a donkey. Of course, Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Are we loyal to our King? If not, today is the day we must decide when, where and how we will prove our faithfulness to our King Jesus by doing what he asks us to do. Are we like the people who gave a glorious reception shouting “Hosanna to the Son of David. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” and after a few days crucified him. We do the same thing when we receive Jesus in our life in Holy Communion and crucify him with our mortal sins. Do we respect the Holy name of Jesus? Are we loyal to him even to the point of death? How do we respect our life and the life of others? We need to imitate Christ who is a humble King. He didn’t have a palace, soldiers or servants. He was the servant of all. He taught us humility through his life. If we are faithful and loyal to Christ we will attend all holy week services – his suffering time. Those who watched the movie “The Passion of the Christ” understood that only three people were loyal and faithful to Jesus Christ. They were Our Blessed Mother, St. John and Mary Magdalene. Make this and every Holy Mass more meaningful. Promise Jesus our Savior that we will be faithful to him during this week and during our whole life. “Lord, give us the grace to be loyal to You until the end of our life.” Amen
Please pray for the repose of the soul of my mother, Theresa Maniyangat. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
We joyfully celebrate Father Jose's 51 years of faithful and devoted priestly ministry. Please click the video link to watch this special tribute honoring his life, service and unwavering dedication to God's people.
There are times when life is overwhelming, and all we have are questions. In those moments, hope can feel far away. The great thing about prayer is that it shifts our perspective toward the One who stands ready to listen.
