The Most Holy Trinity

May 31, 2026

The Holy Trinity is a complete mystery. It is beyond our imagination. Our human intellect has no power to understand the mystery of the Blessed Trinity.  We just believe it.  The Holy Trinity is the central part of our faith.  Every sacrament and every prayer we start with the Holy names of the Blessed Trinity.  “In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  Whatever we do, we do it in the name of the Holy Trinity.

We believe in one God.  But there are three persons.  We believe from the word of God. “Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness.”  Gen. 1-26.  This text is a clear proof that God is in three persons.  We see the Holy Trinity come together on Jesus’ Baptism.  Mat. 3-17.  The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus like a dove. A voice came from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”  Mat. 3-17.

Even if we don’t understand fully about the Holy Trinity, we believe it.  Even after living with Jesus for three years the Apostles were no more in the position to understand this than we are.  This is the very reason why Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit so that He could bring us into the heart of the Triune God. John 16:15. It is the Holy Spirit’s deepest desire to flood our hearts with the Father’s love and the mercy and power of His risen Son.  We need the help of the Holy Spirit to understand the mystery and to love God from the bottom of our hearts.  Without the Holy Spirit we cannot grow in spiritual life or love God.  “Come Holy Spirit fill our hearts with Your seven gifts and love so that we can live closer to the Triune God”.

                                              Amen
